About
Parental Alienation Study Group (“PASG”), an international membership organization and U.S. non-profit, is the world’s premier entity concerned with the topic of parental alienation.
PASG promotes the following three interlocking goals:
(1) supporting research into the causes, manifestations, identification, and interventions for this condition;
(2) educating mental health and legal professionals, policy makers, and alienated parents and grandparents; and
(3) counteracting widespread misinformation regarding this topic.
Mental health professionals, legal practitioners, policy makers, family advocates, alienated family members, and alienated children are welcome to join PASG if they have an interest in these goals and align with our mission.

Parental alienation has been defined as a mental condition in which a child—usually one whose parents are engaged in a high-conflict separation or divorce—allies himself or herself strongly with the preferred parent (the alienating parent) and rejects a relationship with the other parent (the targeted parent) without legitimate justification. The mental component of this condition is the false belief that the rejected parent is evil, dangerous, or not worthy of love. The behavioral component of parental alienation is the firm, persistent rejection of a relationship with the targeted parent.

PASG—a non-profit corporation—consists of over 1000 mental health and legal professionals, family members, and family advocates, who have a special interest in parental alienation. Our members come from more than 65 countries on six continents.

Parental Alienation Study Group ("PASG") is a U.S.-based, non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization as recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, PASG is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with Code section 170. PASG is also authorized to receive charitable donations as a registered non-profit in the State of Tennessee. PASG welcomes financial contributions from individuals from most countries around the world. Please consult your tax advisor regarding your own financial circumstances.
